2016 NCLL Tournament

On May 7, 2016 we traveled to the Eastern Shore in Maryland to play in the Salisbury Seagulls in the first round of the NCLL tournament.  Down on numbers and facing a deep Salisbury squad, the team played 80 minutes of tough, smart lacrosse.  Long, deliberate possesions and fierce groundballing kept Michigan in the game until the very end, losing in a 9-7 heartbreaker.  Senior midfielder Zach Raposo led the team with 4 goals, and freshman goalie Derek Van de Bovenkamp stood on his head against a strong Salisbury attack.  We finished the season ranked #10 in the NCLL, the highest ranking the team has ever held, and we're hungry to keep pushing forward this fall.

2011 Fall Plans

Welcome to the Michigan Lacrosse club website. We are THE club lacrosse team at the University Of Michigan (Ann Arbor of course). Try-outs will be held during the first weeks of the fall semester, which will lead into fall ball, and eventually our run to the National Championship.

2011 FALL PLANS
During the second week of school we will be holding an open try-out to all UMICH students. The goal is to take our existing roster and expand to a roster of 30-35. A roster of this size will help us better prepare to take on those UW teams. It will also increase the intensity and competition at practice. Being able to have full field scrimmages at the end of practice will result in immediate improvement.

Current Roster:

Last year there were several "members" of the team who were committed to every game/practice, and there were players who made it when ever it was convenient. This year we are looking for a more committed team, from top to bottom. Therefore, it has been decided by some of the higher ups that any player that played 4 or more games last season will be grandfathered onto the 11-12 roster. All other players will be asked to try-out during the open tryout. If you are unsure of your status, all grandfathered players are listed on the ROSTER tab above.

 FALL BALL:

Plans are already being set for fall ball scrimmages and practice. We anticipate two weekends that do not conflict with football of course. The scrimmages will be local to Michigan and be day trips. With creative scheduling we should have minimum out of state travel this spring as well.

Spring:

Practices will be once a week. The week of a tournament/game we will have two practices to help prepare. Each player will receive a playbook  and work out regimen.

 Goals:

-expand roster to 30/35

-increase validity of the club

-win the South region

-go undefeated in GLLL play

-play MCLA/NCLL teams to improve play

-win GLLL championship
